We partnered with Floating Point Group during a period of hyper-growth to harden their platform, modernize critical infrastructure components, and improve the reliability and security posture of their trading API. Our work focused on scaling systems beyond the MVP stage while aligning engineering processes with robust security and operational best practices.

Problem

FPG was experiencing rapid market expansion, onboarding institutional traders and managing significantly higher trading volumes year-over-year. Their platform—handling millions in crypto assets—needed stronger architectural patterns, improved API reliability during periods of extreme trading activity, and a more predictable operational model.

Security was also becoming increasingly important: the company needed confidence that their infrastructure, data flows, and strategic API endpoints could withstand both load-related failures and security-related threats. With a small engineering team, FPG needed expert guidance to mature their stack, reduce operational risk, and build a secure foundation for growth.

Solution

We embedded directly with FPG's engineering leadership, conducting a full architectural audit of critical systems powering their trading and routing infrastructure. This included analyzing API behavior under load, identifying single-points-of-failure, validating assumptions around cryptographic handling, and mapping the end-to-end lifecycle of their cryptocurrency settlement workflows.

From there, we designed and implemented improved architecture patterns, modernized legacy components, and established repeatable engineering practices for traffic routing, API management, observability, and system resiliency. We also introduced structured SRE-style processes and helped define secure engineering workflows that reduced risk while enabling faster iteration.

Throughout the engagement, we balanced hands-on engineering with high-level guidance—ensuring FPG's team could ship improvements quickly while adopting long-term security and reliability foundations.
